Hi Mark, for wrinkle treatment do you use the red light alone? Or combined with NIR? Thanks!
Hey Wendy!
Thanks for your question.
Red light will be absorbed by skin a bit more quickly than NIR because it penetrates less deep into tissues, but both red and NIR work in the same way. So for all practical purposes, I’d recommend both red and NIR for every treatment.
I hope this message was helpful!
Best regards,

With facial skin cancer, large and small scars, redness, psoriasis, broken capillaries and spider veins, cellulite, dark spots, wrinkles, and enlarged pores, how I look forward to RLT and then gratefully reporting my healing to you!

Hey Dan, Mark here.
I don’t censor anything.
What can I help you with?
Hello Mark,
I’m curious about methylene blue and menopause. I’m considering hormone replacement therapy with a patch of estradiol and wondered about the fact that Methylene blue blocks estrogen receptors I believe that is what I understand from your book. Can you elaborate and let me know if you are familiar with the new studies that show that HRT is useful to reduce many diseases . I’m wondering what would be more useful for me at my age between Methylene Blue and Hormone replacement Therapy and if I can do both without negating one.
Thank you!
Hey Sollena,
Thanks for reaching out.
Hormone Replacement Therapy is a multi-billion dollar industry based on the dangerous misunderstanding of estrogen’s physiological role in the human body. In menopause, they claim there’s a lack of estrogen – but estrogen is a stress hormone, and the truth is menopause is caused by having too much.
It’s been known for a long time just how toxic estrogen, and ERT is, yet they continue to push it. Drug doctors know only what they’re taught in medical school by drug industry reps. For example, the famous 1990’s Women’s Health Initiative study revealed the effects of supplemental estrogen in women.
Researchers gave a large group of women ERT (estrogen replacement therapy) but were forced to stop the trial early after participants began developing cardiovascular disease, stroke, dementia and cancer.
One of the worst things estrogen does is block the thyroid, which is essential for health. I recommend reading this article to learn more about hops: https://www.endalldisease.com/the-hidden-danger-of-hops-in-beer
Reducing estrogen in the body is the answer, and methylene blue and red light are two therapies that can do that.

Thank you Mark, fascinating!
Hola Mark,
Can you elaborate on too much estrogen causes menopause. I read your article and understand how too much estrogen causes early menstruation but can’t find anything that supports what you say about too much estrogen causing menopause. I was taught to understand that vaginal atrophy and painful intercourse after menopause is remedied by a low-dose vaginal estrogen cream, tablet or ring and that the cause was not enough estrogen. What do you recommend for a woman that is starting menopause and wants to minimize hot flashes and remedy the atrophy and pain? Thank you!
Estrogen is a hormone increased during stress. The idea that any disorder is caused by lack of stress is misguided at best. The true female hormone is progesterone, and in menopause the stress has become so great that the reproductive system is shut down. Taking progesterone, pregnenolone and thyroid can potentially eliminate menopause and resume menstruation.
Here’s a good article on the subject by Dr Ray Peat:

Hi Mark,
How dark should the room be for light therapy (relaxation aside)? In other words, do we lose any red light benefits, if too much blue light is peeking through the window (and sort of blending with the red light)? Or perhaps because the effects are more about the wavelength (which we don’t see), the blue light filtering in doesn’t affect the strength or depth of the red light? Thx!
You talk alot about red light therapy but that has limitations as its effect is only skin deep as I understand it.
Please tell me about the synergistic effect of combining NIR with methelene blue.
I have had cataract surgery. I wondered if the red light therapy could be damaging to the replacement lenses?
Thanks Jo Ann for the question.
According to AAO, “Most IOLs are made of silicone, acrylic, or other plastic compositions.”
60% of daylight from the sun is in the red/near-infrared end of the spectrum, which doesn’t damage implants I doubt there’s nothing to worry about in that regard. And on the plus, red/NIR light can prevent adjacent cells from reacting to the foreign material in the implant.
Hey Danny thanks for the question.
Red light can penetrate a number of cm into the body, near-infrared a number of inches. Methylene blue taken into the bloodstream has the potential to reach cells deeper into the body than light, and both work in similar ways so the effects are shown in some studies to be synergistically beneficial. Photodynamic therapy is the name for the two interventions when combined and it’s well studied. Hey Sheryl thanks for the question.
There’s really nothing to worry about in regards to how bright the room you’re in is. All that’s required for the therapy to be effective is to shine it on bare skin from as close as possible so the photons of red/NIR light can do their job protecting cells and improving energy production.
I hope this was helpful.
Best,
Mark
Hey Wendy!
Thanks for your comment. For best results, always use both Red and NIR for all treatments. This ensures maximum penetration depth and maximum photons of light available to cells.
